Joe Sciacchitano spent over 15 years in the advertising agency world. In April 2018, he decided that the long hours selling cars and hamburgers weren't for him anymore, and launched Joeshock, LLC.
He’s been calling the shots, gaining clients, and having a blast ever since.
“It was a stressful first year, but it was worth it,” Joe shares. “The past five years have been really fun for me because I've found a passion in working on UX and UI for medical devices. It’s very enriching because at the end of my day I feel like I may have actually made a difference in someone’s life for the better…”
Joeshock, LLC is a one-stop creative and technical production shop. He creates, develops, and produces product platforms for agencies like the ones he used to work for, as well as biotech startups.
“To design product interfaces that allow surgeons to carefully remove a tumor from someone’s brain or place a device in someone’s spine to improve their life is really quite humbling,” Joe explains.
Being self-employed also allows Joe to spend more time with his wife and four kids, play hockey a few times a week, and be involved in his community. He volunteers with his church and sits on the Board of Directors for PurposePoint, a purpose-driven leadership and organizational development company.
So how did Joe go from having zero clients to being busier than ever? What’s his secret superpower that he thinks every entrepreneur should hone? He shares all that and more at the Weekly Campfire.
